Our Christmas!

On Christmas Eve, since it was our family movie night, we started with dinner and some Christmas movies.
After that was over, we put the star on our advent calendar.

And the kids directed our Nativity this year. Madelyn and Seth were Mary and Joseph.
Adah was the angel.
Erik and Rhys were wise men bringing gifts to Jesus.

We put the cookies our for Santa, and we were off to bed. Christmas morning brought the usual squeals of delight. The kids were happy with their new loot and after some breakfast and more gift opening, mom and dad disappeared for a nap and the kids were buried somewhere in the piles of toys, wrapping paper, and boxes.

We had a delicious dinner of rib-roast (Erik dry-ages it himself and it is so good), mashed potatoes, bread and salad. For dessert, we had a homemade blueberry pie (from blueberries that we picked and froze this summer) with ice cream. Oh, and of course some sort of sparkling juice. It was a wonderful day and we were grateful to be together as a family to enjoy it.

Oh, and I made these aprons and chef's hats and mailed them to a friend to give her twin boys for Christmas.
And these ADORABLE hats are what she sent for my boys for Christmas! It was a great talent swap - I can't get over how cute these hats are.

And here is a gift I made for Erik...
