Craig Family Reunion

This year the Craig Family Reunion was held at my parents "new" house.  They've been vamping up for it and have great property and a beautiful home.  They have chickens, a big garden, a sandbox, teather ball, a swing set, horse shoes, and plans for the future reunions!  The kids were constantly on the go, never bored for one second.  Well, with over 30 cousins running around, it's hard to have nothing to do!

On Monday we arrived around lunchtime, and didn't see the kids until dinner time.

On Tuesday we went horse back riding - a couple that my parents know offered to let us use one of their horses, and each of the kids got a ride.  They loved it.

On Wednesday we spent the day at Sand Hollow, swimming and going out on my sister's boat.  Erik wake boarded, the rest of the kids went on the tube.  Adah was brave and tried the knee board and did awesome!  She was a natural and we want to take them again.  Rhys wanted to try, but was a little nervous and we didn't have time for him to work through his nerves.  Hopefully next time.

I loved watching these little babies wander the beach.  Once they can walk, their world just opens up.

On Thursday we went to the neighbors property.  They have this museum of sorts - it's full of animals they have shot.  Interesting, but it was neat to see all these animals!  Then they let each of the kids take a little stuffed animal.

Here is a picture of the big hunters.  They have traveled far and wide to hunt, stuff, and create a museum with these animals.  The picture is blurry...to protect the innocent.  ;)  Some of the animals are what you would expect to see, like lots of different types of deer.  But a lot was...surprising!

Then we walked around and saw their baby goats and deer and the kids could go in and pet them.  They also have a million rabbits, but they are too hard to catch because they're so fast, so the kids mostly just looked at those.  Finally, we went to their playground.  This place was awesome.  It was shaded by a ton of huge trees.  There were so many fun things to play on, even a zipline!  Seth was the only one not interested in trying it.  The rest of our kids loved it.

On Friday we hiked part of Kolob Canyon.  We also took our annual family picture and had s'mores.

This is not the family picture...this is just some/most of the grandkids.  This is when we finished our hike.

On Saturday we packed up and headed home.  It was a fun time.

Seth was basically wearing this hat the whole week.  He's such a cowboy at heart.  Oh, except he didn't really like riding the horse, and he's not the most adventurous child...ok, so he just really likes hats!

These two were great, and had quite the wild time.  So sleepy on the ride home!

  • Such a good time. I had to laugh at the picture of the twins at the lake because the lighting with that red dirt makes it look they are walking around on Mars! :) Now I gotta get my post up!
