| Love this boy's face. |
Each time I have a child turn five, I kind of lose it a little bit. It's like the age they officially become a kid, and just seem to grow up so fast from here on out. And Rhys is no exception. He has recently become very independent, very helpful, more capable, more aware, more inquisitive...all those things that make him seem so much older.
For his birthday, Rhys received some fun presents, and chose his meals. For breakfast he wanted breakfast burritos, lunch was hot dogs, and dinner was steak and salad. For dessert he requested those ice cream cone clowns I have done a number of times now. We went to dinner as a family to Cane's the night before his birthday. Cane's is a restaurant that is all about chicken fingers. This is a favorite for Rhys, so it was a nice surprise for him...and for the people in the restaurant. Apparently our "little" family is quite a site, we get a lot of stares. :)
Since it was Father's Day as well (5 years ago, Rhys was BORN on Father's Day), Rhys and Erik were willing to share their special days.
Rhys became a big brother at 14 months old. He's been a good one ever since.

| How did he get this old? |
It is literally painful how much I miss these chubby cheeks.
