Latest Adventures
Despite the lack of blog posts, we have been adventuring over the past little while!
Erik and I had a special treat and his new company had tickets for the employees and their wives to Phantom of the Opera! It was awesome.
One weekend Erik took the 4 older kids to Red Rock Canyon. They loved it. They talk about it all the time and can't wait to go back. In April we went to San Diego for my nephew, Jared's, baptism. We thought we'd walk along the beach since it wasn't really warm enough to swim...but once you get your feet wet...there's no stopping these kids. They were soaked to their heads!
While we were in San Diego we also visited Erik's grandma, and his dad was there too. We went to lunch at this place that has a train you can ride. So grandpa splurged to be sure the kids had a good time.
We spent a couple of weekends in May at my parents house. Erik and my brother Dehn helped my dad build a chicken coop, along with some other odds and ends projects. My SIL, my mom, all the kids and I spent time watching the men work, wandering and taking walks outside, and just letting the kids play.
One of the weekends we went up there, we drove up into the hills/mountains on an off-road adventure and visited the Mountain Meadows Massacre Memorial. It is a humbling site to visit and a hard story to share with our kids.
Of course we have visits to the splash parks here in Vegas, trying to escape the intense heat.
A couple of weekends ago, we took part of the day off-roading and drove into the mountains on Mormon Well Road. It was a fun drive, very bumpy which made Anika giggle a lot, and we got out and walked around looking for the well. Supposedly this is where many Mormons came through from Utah to Vegas. They had a well there for these travelers to get water, and there was also a corral that was built for keeping the animals while travelers stopped. We were able to find the corral, it must be 100-150 years old? It was really cool!
And these girls growing so fast is a daily adventure. They are so cute and so fun.
Come visit Las Vegas! It's crazy hot, but we're crazy fun. ;)

How fun! It makes me tired to see all you've been up to, but also motivates me to have lots of fun with my family this summer, regardless of how tired I am or will be. You're quite the woman!
